I'm always inspired by a magnificent sunset in the desert. This painting came about when I was on the road to Al-Khobar from Jubail. I passed the most spectacular desert area just as the sun was setting. I got an idea from there to try to reinterpret what I saw. I needed a vast area to paint on, so I went for a larger than normal canvas.
